Job Description
Responsible for overseeing the financial reporting cycle for Vanuatu Utilities & Infrastructure Ltd and apply principals of accounting in conformity with US GAAP to analyse financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the required duties personally, or through delegation to assigned staff.
Direct and oversee all of the financial activities, to include the preparation of current financial report and forecasts for future business growth.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparation of budgets and financial reports, including income statements,
balance sheets, tax returns and reports for Government regulatory agencies.
Contribution to the achievement of the company objectives by providing advices and guidance on financial strategy
Develop and maintain all accounting procedures and systems used by the
Company and ensure compliance
Review reports and analyse projections of income and expense against actual figures and suggest methods of improving the planning process in conjunction
with the Chief Financial Officer and General Manager, assess the long-term financial trends and review prospects for futures growth of income and new
product areas
Ensure the Company meets its financial and statutory responsibilities.
Selection Criteria
Degree in Accounting is a must, with a minimum of 5 years senior level working
experience in financial operation, preferably in a multi-national company
Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principle, Sarbanes Oxley
Regulations and International Accounting Standard and previous experience
Experience with Timberline accounting system
