Full-Time BROADBAND PRESALES AND CUSTOMER FIELD INTERVENTION TECHNICIAN

Job Description

Vodafone Vanuatu is seeking for a Broadband Presales and Customer Field Intervention Technician to be based in Port-Vila.

Missions:

  • Management of Wireless Radio Network which includes nano Beam P2P/ P2MP links, 4G Data Terminals.
  • To ensure highest quality of service being deliver to the valuable customers on Vodafone Vanuatu GSM, UMTS, HSPA, LTE and Rad Air-mux on a day-to-day basis.
  • Must be able to Pro-actively monitor Vodafone Vanuatu network faults and quality degradation and action accordingly
  • Consistency in KPI monitoring and highlight Network Issues
  • Provide Engineering Solution by design, costing and installation of Business solutions Vsat, (PABX, IPBX, Cloud, WIFI, customized voice and data solution) for SME, Government and Corporate customer and provide support Coordinator with the corporate sales team to answer all technical queries from customers.
  • Manages all customer request for Radio Wireless Solutions. P2P/ P2MP links.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design of Business solutions for all segments and present to Steerco for validation
  • Design and costing of customised solution with support of technical team
  • Prepare Sales brief for the Corporate Sales team
  • Prepare documentation for Vodafone Vanuatu record as well as for customer record
  • Ensure that all communications with customers are handled within the required time frame and to the organizational standards
  • Establish key relationships with corporate clients and agencies to ensure maximum exposure and increase revenue.
  • To be proactive with locating and developing new business in line with the revenue and sales targets.
  • To carry out customer visit in keeping customer satisfaction high and acquiring new business.
  • To ensure personal presentation is of the highest standards at all times to project a professional image to clients.
  • Have full knowledge of the product, services and solutions offered locally as well as in similar countries
  • To provide support and coaching to new team members within Corporate Sales Team.
  • To manage projects until full implementation during the required time frame
  • Be aware of the key trends in the market and take appropriate action.
  • Have extensive knowledge of competitor business model and position accordingly.
  • Must monitor and report all alarm on 2G, 2.5G.3G, HSPA, 4G WIMAX alarms leading to service outage and degradation of quality of service. Must closely follow-up and for urgently closure thus operate with minimal/ no Outage & QoS degradation.
  • Must be able to update an hourly report, to Vodafone Vanuatu management, on the whole network status (outage, performance issues, difficulties, complaint status, and related action plans).
  • Provide remote support to onsite field operation team on OMC-R and on other fault management/troubleshooting tool.
  • Complaint management. Do the first level checks for internal and external complaints and update accordingly.
  • Site Caretaker management.
  • Assist on incident and change management.
  • Assist Planning and Engineering team on Fault and performance managements activities
  • Other activities defined by the direct superior in order to fulfil all position’s requirements
  • Field O&M operations upon proper arrangement with RAN staffs to ensure above tasks continuity.
  • Acquire Skills in Network Optimisation by Parameter Tuning and On site RF Tuning
  • Participate in Network Drive test using various Field coverage tools such as Tems.

Competencies:
1. Qualification & Experience

  • Be a holder of an Engineering degree in Electronic and communication, Telecommunication or equivalent
  • Have a at least 2 years’ experience at that level.

1. Knowledge

  • Certificate on Telecommunication engineering or equivalent.
  • At least one year of professional in Telecommunication field
  • Good knowledge on LTE, GSM, UMTS, LTE WIMAX, Microwave equipment. Knowledge in Alcatel Lucent equipment would be an advantage
  • Good Knowledge on Network O&M tool (OMC-R,SAM).

2. Skills

  • Fluent English or French and Bislama
  • Strong communication and organising skills
  • Good writing and verbal skills
  • At least 1-year experience in Radio Frequency engineering
  • Good analytical skills
  • Acquire a Driver’s License
  • Be Customer focused
  • Have the Ability to work in team
  • Have leadership skills
  • Possess Analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Have high level of selling skills
  • Have a Valid Driver’s Licence.
