Job Description:
We are on the lookout for an experienced and passionate Bartender to become an integral part of our team at 83 Islands Distillery. You will play a crucial role in providing an unparalleled drinking experience, highlighting our signature rums and cocktails.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, focusing on our craft rum, following standard recipes
- Engage with customers, take orders, and serve snacks and drinks, enhancing their experience with your knowledge of our products.
- Make recommendations tailored to customers’ preferences and our unique rum varieties.
- Ensure legal compliance by checking IDs for alcohol consumption.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting bar area.
- Manage bar inventory and supplies, emphasizing our focus on local and sustainable products.
- Handle transactions and maintain an accurate cash drawer.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bartender, with a keen interest in rum and mixology.
- Proficiency in mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks, especially rum-based cocktails.
- Organizational skills to keep the bar orderly and well-stocked.
- Basic math skills for transactions; experience with cash registers.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage customers with stories of our rum and heritage.
- High school diploma; mixology certification or related field is desirable.
- Must meet Vanuatu’s legal age requirement for alcohol service.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
