Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as breads, croissants, pies, tarts, cakes and cookies
- Decorate cakes and pastries using different icings and toppings so that they are appealing to the eye
- Create new and exciting desserts
- Monitor supplies and ingredients necessary for daily operations
- Check quality of material and condition of equipment
- Check expiration dates
- Maintain a clean cooking station
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation in kitchen
- Keep updated with the latest food and industry trends
Requirements
- Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
- Great attention to detail with creative flare and pride in presentation
- Familiar with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers and blenders
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Experience with cake and pastry decoration techniques
- Excellent time-management skills
- Able to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Possess great team spirit with a customer-focused attitude
- Be flexible to work early morning shifts
Selection Criteria
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
