About The Role
Role Location: Vanuatu
Role Type: 3 year fixed term, Full time opportunity
As the ANZ Country Head, Vanuatu, you will be responsible for our relationship and reputation with local regulators,
government officials, NGOs, customers, business associations and local community representatives. The role requires a
strong conduit and communicator for ANZ information, whether policies, strategic changes or performance updates incountry as well as to ANZ about issues, risks and opportunities within Vanuatu.
Reporting to the Regional Executive, Pacific, this role is responsible for Vanuatu’s end to end franchise across all Businesses,
Products and Enablement. The Country Head is expected to role model ANZ’s values and always represent ANZ’s interests
in Vanuatu. This end-to-end remit is expected to be reflected in strong business execution with high collaboration across all
areas in-country:
Your key accountabilities in this role will include:
- Delivering customer-focused propositions in the ANZ Vanuatu business and effectively remediating customer issues.
- Maintaining high quality risk management and assurance processes to ensure products and services are compliant with regulatory requirements, are responsible for our customers and generate value for shareholders.
- Grow and sustain the Vanuatu business throughout financial cycles globally and implement in-country strategy
- Enhance the return and productivity while maintaining positive engagement with all stakeholders including employees
- Ensuring the total country franchise stays on strategy, works within risk appetite and delivers on its commitments;
- Closely engaging all Divisional Business / Product / Enablement leaders in establishing the local strategy with close alignment to the Group strategy and network priorities;
- Acting as a custodian of the bank’s balance sheet, building and maintaining self-sufficiency in terms of funding, liquidity and capital;
- Role modelling and promoting ANZ values, New Ways of Leading and aspirational culture, and leading the team to do the same.
About You
To grow and be successful in this role, you’ll ideally bring the following:
- Proven senior leadership experience demonstrating industry, segment and/or geographic leadership;
- Demonstrated ability to drive and deliver aspirational culture
- Good knowledge of complex financing structures and techniques.
- Strong credit / risk knowledge, experience and assessment skills
- Experience managing risk end to end, including being able to identify, monitor and manage issues and dependencies and agreeing appropriate risk responses;
- A demonstrated passion for the customer and how we deliver to their needs and expectations;
- Experience in working with complex stakeholders and communicate confidently and effectively with Chief Executives, Regulators, Government Offices, Finance Directors, Boards of Major Customers and the Media, via outstanding communication and presentation skills.
