If yes, then we invite you to apply for any 3 positions as Disaster Risk Reduction Officer for West Ambae Area Council, Canal Fanafo Area council & East Malo Area Council.

Where you come in:
In this full-time contract position, assigned specifically in Canal Fanafo, East Malo & West Ambae Area council, you will support area administrator & communities in DRR activity plans inclusively on climate change issue’s, implementing and reporting to Area Administrator, PDO officer & DRR Manager monthly. You will also represent Save the Children in the Area Council level emergency operations centre.
You will make an impact by:
Provide Community disaster and Climate change committee (CDCCCs) DRR Training support on Community Assessment data collection, proposal writing & basic finance management including Child Protection or child save guarding Training and Inclusion Trainings.

…Your experience in community structure & roles, knowledge of disaster risk reduction and response, knowledge of the Vanuatu community and culture, and a personable approach to partnerships, will work as team with community & provincial government. You have a keen eye for detail working on your own and teams in diverse cultural setting, and a commitment to achieve results.
This role requires:
Required Qualification & Experience:
- Diploma in community service or international humanitarian development or equivalent,
- 3-4 years relevant work experience
- Sound understanding of disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in the Vanuatu context
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent in Public Speaking
- Demonstrated program management skills and Proposal writing Skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- Demonstrate skills in social work and have experience in working with Communities or related field.
- Being able to be Creative to address community issues and working closely with the Area Administrator, Provincial Disaster Officer, and the Disaster Ready Program Manager
