Job Description

Ramada By Wyndham Port Vila (RBWPV) is seeking suitable candidates to appoint for the following position. The main purpose of this position is to be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, managing, and controlling all activities within the accounting scope of operations here at RBWPV.

                                       Accounts Officer

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position is to assist the CFO in the daily operations of the Finance Department, directly overseeing and assisting with accounts payable, receivables and payroll operations. As a vital member of the properties Executive Team, your role will be to provide financial support and advice to the CFO. You will also provide leadership and direction to the team. This includes meeting statutory requirements by providing accurate information via financial management and corporate reporting, budgets, forecasts, evaluating and improving operational.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • To liaise with all Department Heads as to cost effective measures to enhance their department’s profitability.
  • To be responsible for the credit approval and collection policies of the complex, ensuring that they are adhered to at all times.
  • To be responsible for the monitoring and checking of all procedures relating to payroll for the Resort
  • To ensure that all in-house ledgers are constantly in balance.
  • To be responsible for the monitoring and checking of all audits relating to financial standards and procedures.
  • Monitor the Debtors balance
  • Review accounts payable to ensure efficient and effective use of financial resources.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for all Resort balance sheet accounts.
  • Supply all departments with accurate statistical information on a timely basis.
  • Ensure all accounts are paid with the suppliers’ credit limits.
  • Perform any other duties within the employee’s range of competence as required by management.
  • Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Monitor and control the cash flow for the Hotel.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
  • Financial and commercial acumen & analysis skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level with Microsoft office suite
  • A proactive, innovative, outcome focused approach, bringing energy into the workplace
  • Exceptional communication, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven ability to work and perform in a high paced active environment
  • Experience in Xero Accounting software will be an added advantage
