About the Role
This is an amazing opportunity for a detail driven individual that is keen to build their experience within an industry leading organisation. You will form a central role in the finance team, primarily focusing on coordinating and managing the month end process to ensure sound financial accounting control framework. The role works closely with all members of the Finance Team ensuring accuracy of transaction classification, record maintenance and timely delivery of monthly and weekly reports to stakeholders.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, your primary responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- Maintain the monthly checklist of all duties for the preparation and closure of month end;
- Working closely with the Finance Manager in month end closure procedures, including posting general journals and performing balance sheet reconciliations;
- Prepare monthly management report packs, tracking actual financial performance against budget;
- Calculate monthly payments for Engineers, Technicians including issuing invoices and associated supporting documentation as reflected in our services & facilities agreements;
- Reconciling, preparing & lodging cyclical compliance and statutory obligations
- Ensure financial integrity of sales reconciliations & assist operational team and Administrators with queries relating to sales reconciliations;
- Assisting with the reconciliation of bank account transactions where necessary;
- Manage and maintain the Fixed Asset Registers;
- Have experience in processing MYOB
- Attending to queries in a proactive manner and visiting locations to assist with explanation of financial results;
- Work with the Financial Controller to continuously identify areas for improvement, including the implementation of BI tools and other systems that automate areas of the finance function;
- Perform other duties as requested by the Financial Controller commensurate with the level of the role and skills of the incumbent.
About You
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance or accounting
• Completed or studying towards CA/CPA or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years experience working in a similar role
• Experience with MYOB OR XERO is highly essential
• Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Suite, specifically Excel
• Experience navigating processes and systems in a multi-stakeholder environment
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a deadline driven environment where at times the business can operate in a highly ambiguous and unstructured way
• High degree of accuracy in the preparation of reports
• Excellent interpersonal skills
