Background
The EYEL project:
Youth Challenge Vanuatu (YCV) is a non-governmental organisation headquartered in Port Vila, Vanuatu, whose mission is to provide quality programs and services throughout Vanuatu that assist disadvantaged youth to meet their life goals, reach their potential and to assist communities meet their development challenges. In addition, YCV assists young women and men to contribute to and lead the economic and social development of Vanuatu. YCV are direct implementers of the EYEL project and the EYEL project’s overall goal is:
“Young men and women, including marginalised youth, are leading economic and social development in Vanuatu.”
To achieve its goal the project has four intended outcomes:
- Outcome one: An increased number of young men and women in employment, self-employment, or study.
- Outcome two: Young men and women engaging as active citizens around issues that are important to them.
- Outcome three: YCV being recognised by government and the private sector as a leading youth advocate and provider of youth services.
- Outcome four: YCV being more financially sustainable.
