As the Senior Governance Manager Pacific, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that ANZ meets the requirements of the ANZ Guarantee Deed and ANZ Commitment Deed that ANZ has entered into with the Australian Government. The Guarantee runs for a ten-year period and reflects the alignment of ANZ and the Australian Government interests in supporting strong, trusted and resilient banking services in the Pacific.
The role will be responsible for managing the Guarantee and Commitment arrangements on behalf of both the Regional Executive Pacific and the Country Head PNG. The reporting line will be into the Regional Executive Pacific.

What will your day look like?
As the Senior Governance Manager Pacific, you will be responsible to:
- Lead the establishment and ongoing management of ANZ’s Pacific Guarantee and Commitment agreements with the Australian Government.
- Interpret, document, and operationalize complex requirements through robust processes, templates, and governance frameworks.
- Ensure ANZ’s readiness for formal agreement activation and maintain compliance through continuous process execution.
- Collaborate with the Regional Executive Pacific and Pacific Country Heads to ensure day-to-day adherence to agreement terms.
- Prepare ANZ for annual reviews and audits (internal and external) with comprehensive documentation and reporting.
- Act as the primary liaison between ANZ and the Australian Government for all matters related to these arrangements.
- Provide ongoing support to Pacific leadership on regulatory, governance, and business matters as needed.
To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Proven ability to design and implement complex, scalable compliance and governance frameworks from the ground up.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement across diverse geographies, including senior Australian Government representatives.
- Strong legal and analytical acumen with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex contractual documents.
- Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented, with a strong commitment to ANZ’s Pacific operations and strategic initiatives.
- Flexible team player, willing to support broader Pacific governance, business, and
technology priorities.
