EQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (REOI)

Position: Kava Seller (Kava Bar Attendant)

Location: Departure Lounge Kava Bar, Airport Area, Port Vila, Efate

About Us

Departure Lounge Kava Bar is a locally owned business established to provide premium-quality Vanuatu kava in a clean, friendly and welcoming environment for local residents, airport workers and visitors.

We are seeking a reliable, honest and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Kava Seller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve kava by shell and takeaway bottle.
  • Provide friendly customer service.
  • Receive and accurately record customer payments.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kava bar.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties assigned by the Owner/Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Year 10 education.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to communicate in Bislama, English or French.
  • Honest, reliable and customer focused.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Experience in hospitality, retail, cafés or nakamals is an advantage but not essential.

Working Hours

Monday to Saturday
4:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Additional hours may be required during busy periods.

Employment Conditions

  • Hourly Rate: 250 VT per hour
  • Employment Agreement will be provided to the successful applicant.
  • Probation period applies.
