Tourism Dive Specialist

The Ministry of Trade & Commerce (MTC) through the Department of Tourism we are seeking an independent diving specialist to monitor the safety requirements of all tourist diving operators

The overall objective is to improve safety compliance throughout the diving industry, ensuring that operators comply with established standards.

• Assessing safety practices: Monitor each dive operator’s safety procedures, including emergency protocols, equipment’s maintenance, risk management, and instructor training.
• Diving equipment audit: Examine the condition of the equipment used (cylinders, regulators, jackets, wetsuits, etc..) and make sure it meets safety standards.
• Staff training and certification: check that all instructors and dive guides hold the required certifications and that they receive ongoing training.
• Report and recommendations: Draw up a detailed report for each dive operator, including assessments of safety practices and specific recommendations for improvement.
