NATIONAL FALE COORDINATOR
Background
The Vanuatu Association of NGOs is advertising the National Coordinator of the Facility Aiding Locally led Engagement (FALE) Vanuatu. FALE Vanuatu’s FALE is a humanitarian program under VANGO. The primary role is to facilitate and coordinate the humanitarian response of the community, local, national, and international organizations during times of crisis or disaster in the country. This includes the collection and analysis of information, identification of priorities, mobilization of resources, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration between various actors involved in the response. The overarching goal is to ensure a coherent and effective response that meets the needs of the affected population. The National FALE will work closely with local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated and efficient response.
We are currently seeking a National FALE Coordinator to join our team in Vanuatu. The Facility Aiding Locally-led Engagement (FALE) Vanuatu is a coordination hub that facilitates and coordinates the humanitarian response of community, local, national, and international organizations during times of crisis or disaster in the country. The primary role of the National FALE Coordinator is to provide strategic direction and leadership to the coordination hub, ensuring effective coordination between humanitarian actors, including NGOs, UN agencies, and other stakeholders involved in the response.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the coordination hub.
- Always ensure effective coordination between humanitarian actors.
- Identify and address gaps in the response, share information, and ensure that all actors are working together collaboratively.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information related to the humanitarian response.
- Advocate for the needs of affected communities.
- Build the capacity of local organizations and humanitarian actors involved in the response. Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of the humanitarian response.
- Organise Quarterly meetings with the humanitarian CSO members
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- 2+ years of experience in humanitarian coordination, preferably in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
- Experience in information management, capacity building, and monitoring and evaluation.
- Fluency in English and Bislama.
