World Vision Vanuatu has exciting opportunity for those who want to make a change by becoming part of a transformational and dynamic team. We are recruiting for positions with the WVV’s BHA and AHP Earthquake Emergency Response Grant.
1 x Development Manager
The purpose of this position is to manage the Vanuatu Earthquake Emergency Response AHP Activation Grant on Efate contributing to the achievement of the goal that earthquake affected communities in Vanuatu, including vulnerable groups, are able to recover from the impacts in a timely manner by:
- Manage project activities including planning, implementation, monitoring, contributing to reporting, and some budgeting responsibilities, to ensure World Vision delivers high quality outcomes on time and within budget and in line with WV core values.
- Manage project staff including appropriate and timely performance management, capacity building, and day to day operational support.
- Working in partnership with Provincial stakeholders and communities to ensure that World Vision is delivering relevant and high-quality programmes in a sensitive and professional manner.
The required skills and knowledge are;
- Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant qualification or equivalent work experience
- At least 2 years’ experience managing projects, including planning, monitoring, report writing, and financial management (ideally within an NGO or not-for-profit organisation).
- Demonstrated ability to interact, work well and build strong relationships with people, partners and communities.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of development sector within Vanuatu.
- Strong planning, organizational, time management skills.
- Ability to creatively solve problems whilst adhering to required processes and using mandated systems
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to maintain calm and work under pressure to strict deadlines.
- Ability to analyse and solve problems, persuade, network and negotiate.
- High level of computer literacy, including an email system and Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word and Excel
1 x Procurement & Logistics Officer
The purpose of this position is to ensure the Vanuatu Earthquake Emergency Response AHP and BHA Activation Grants Procurements and Logistics are done in a timely manner by;
- Ensure the smooth procurement operations of the World Vision office
- Track and manage the assets of World Vision, ensuring that they are accounted for and well maintained.
- Provide Professional Procurement administration
- Support Project staff with their requests and propose them to Line or Matrix Managers
- In charge of warehouse monitoring, inventory and security.
The required skills and knowledge are;
- Diploma, Year 12 or relevant work experience.
- 5 Years’ experience in providing logistical support eg. Procurement, Budgeting.
- Experience with planning and organizing with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Experience with working gracefully under pressure and in situations of insecurity and uncertainty
- Excellent written and verbal communication and relation skills
- Working experience of using computer e.g word, excel, email.
6 x Temporary Staff
The objective of this assignment is to provide temporary (at least 3 months) support to help implement livelihood and WASH project activities under BHA WVV’s Earthquake Emergency Response Grant.
- Implementing project activities according to the project design with a focus on ensuring the community has a strong understanding of and plays a strong role in achieving program outcomes.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders such as community members, community leaders and church groups.
- Carry out ongoing monitoring of project activities and make recommendations for improvement where appropriate.
- [Plumber roles only]: Support WASH implementation team with quick fixes to water systems in schools and health facilities in and around Port Vila.
4 x Temporary Staff
The objective of this assignment is to provide temporary (at least 3 months) support to help implement livelihood and WASH project activities under AHP WVV’s Earthquake Emergency Response Grant.
- Implementing project activities according to the project design with a focus on ensuring the community has a strong understanding of and plays a strong role in achieving program outcomes.
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders such as community members, community leaders and church groups.
- Carry out ongoing monitoring of project activities and make recommendations for improvement where appropriate.
The required skills and knowledge are;
- At least 1-2 years’ experience working with individuals and groups in communities.
- Experience using communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at different levels from different backgrounds.
- Experience following instructions but self-motivated enough to be able to complete tasks without constant supervision.
- Positive, can-do attitude, hard-worker, polite, friendly, and able to initiate according to community context.
- Experience with confidence to interact with a range of different people.
- Basic computer skills (Word & Excel & able to use email, Internet)
- Committed to work on weekends as per communities’ availability for activities to be carried out in their areas.
- [Plumber roles only]: some basic plumbing training or relevant practical experience.
