Job Description

Position: Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist
Department: Maintenance
Location: Luganville, Santo
Weekly Hours: 40 hours + required for call-out
Reports to: QA & WHS Manager

Job purpose:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Forney Enterprises, Luganville, Santo. The Quality Assurance Specialist role is multifaceted role working with the QA Manger with the primary responsibility of development and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure product.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the QA manager to develop, implement, and maintain a QA system that coordinates company-wide production standards, protocols, and product testing.
  2. Act as the alternative point of contact for customer/consumer product quality issues and collaborate with the Quality Control Manager to investigate, report, and resolve issues.
  3. Produce reports on nonconformance of products and processes, daily production quality, and conduct root cause analyses.
  4. Facilitate problem-solving and troubleshooting of quality issues in collaboration with relevant departments.
  5. Ensure that all products produced meet food safety and quality requirements as per Forney Enterprise/HACCP standards.
  6. Create relevant forms and instructions to record, evaluate, and report quality data for the purpose of maintaining HACCP certification.
  7. Assist the Human Resources department in identifying specific training needs to ensure company-wide compliance in quality control practices and incident/hazard prevention.
  8. Serve as a safety model, promoting a high level of safety, continuous improvement practices, and participate in accident/risk prevention programs.
  9. Conduct regular safety audits and safety area inspections.
  10. Must be able to work a night shift as production supervisor

Qualification

  • A bachelor’s degree in a field related to the industry
  • Several years of experience working within food industry
  • Deep knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
  • Superb computer skills, including database management
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in best practices for testing, version control, and defect management
    A sound understanding of workplace health and safety (WHS), HACCP and food safety regulations.
