The Vanuatu Association of Non-Governmental Organization (VANGO) is the national umbrella organisation for all non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and community-based organizations (CBOs) operating in Vanuatu. VANGO’s goal is “to build a vibrant NGO sector which accurately represents the interests of ni- Vanuatu people and disadvantages groups and promotes important local development issues”. As we continue to grow and strengthen our operations, we are looking for a talented Finance Officer to support our financial processes and contribute to our overall success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to provide insights and recommendations to management.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and audit processes.
- Support the development and implementation of financial controls and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support for decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary education in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Proven experience working in finance or accounting roles, preferably in a Non-Government Organization.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
