Trade Analyst
The Vanuatu Aid for Trade Management Unit (VAMU) operates as a division within the Ministry of Trade and Commerce (MTC), under the supervision of the Office of the Director
General.
The MTC deals with a wide range of stakeholders, particularly with the business community encompassing primary producers, processing and manufacturing industries, services firms,
traders and exporters. This Post is to assist the promotion and trade development by researching and analyzing trade including export and economic activities, to increase share of domestic demand satisfied by local production and improving Vanuatu’s trade competitiveness (Trade Policy Framework 2019-2025).
The objectives of this Position is to enrich and to expand the existing knowledge of trade activities for the productive sector.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in any recognized Universities.
- Special Skills in Economics (Econometrics), Statistics, Commerce & Public Policy, International Trade, Data Analysis or Equivalent Professional.
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Quantitative Analysis, Policy Development.
- Technical Skills in Statistical and Data Analysis, Research and Policy Drafting.
- Planning, Report Writing Skills, Negotiation Skills.
- Must be a computer literate
- Critical, analytical, persuasive, ability to make decision, and ability to think beyond given scope.
- Have good communication skills necessary both verbal and written.
- Honest, reliable, committed to work and punctual at all time.
- Be fluent in English, Bislama and French can be an advantage.
