The Opportunity
The School of Engineering and Physics is one of the top in research in the University of the South Pacific and is sufficiently resourced to pursue excellence in teaching and research. Applications are invited for the position of Teaching Assistant in Physics to be based at Vanuatu Campus. The appointee will contribute to the teaching of undergraduate Physics courses offered through Face to Face/ Online/ Blended and VISP modes. Duties include but are not restricted to, running laboratory and tutorial classes, marking assignments, lab reports, test papers and other administration tasks.
The Person We Seek
To be considered for this position, applicants must have: for Teaching Assistant at Band 1 level: Postgraduate Diploma in Science (Physics) with a GPA of at least 4.0 and a good first Degree in Physics; for Teaching Assistant at Band 2 level: Master’s qualification in Physics with some tertiary teaching experience and progress towards attaining Postgraduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching (PGCTT) or equivalent; and applicants must be citizen of the USP member countries.
Remuneration
The position is available for a term of 3 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Salary Range:
Band 1: VUV 1,756,824 to VUV 2,052,504 per annum;
Band 2: VUV 2,164,907 to VUV 2,400,271 per annum
