- Contract full-time position for Vanuatu Citizen
- Port Vila with travel to the islands
The Organisation
The Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) is Vanuatu’s National Private Sector organisation. It is VCCI’s intention to become an organisation that makes a unique and significant contribution to the future of the country by representing the private sector in dialogue with Government and others, and by providing effective business development services across the country.
The Position
The purpose of this position is to: Manage communications on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce including writing content for its website and Facebook pages, news articles and press releases, and on occasion drafting reports;
Provide communications support to all areas of the organisation including to the President and Council, the General Manager, and staff working across the organization;
Raise awareness of who the Chamber is and the work that it does among its target audiences, in particular businesses and Government; and Improve staff skills in communication, media and public relations across the organisation
Essential Selection Criteria
► Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant subject(s)
► Work experience in a similar role, where responsibilities and duties relevant to those required for this position can be demonstrated, for example communications, media, marketing, event management
► Strong writing, presentation and public speaking skills
► Website and social media skills
► Vanuatu citizen
Desirable Selection Criteria
► Knowledge of the Vanuatu media
► Strategic thinker – able to see the big picture as well as the detail
► Team player – collaborative and diplomatic
► Fluency in all three national languages (not an essential requirement)
